Tearsong's Equine Athletes, Rescue, and Sanctuary
Sometimes a foster just can't let a rescue go. The horse gets under the skin of the foster... and it is a match. Instead of forcing a return, we adopt the horse to the foster. CLICK ON THE IMMAGE TO SEE THE ENTIRE STORY
Laser was fostered for a couple of years while he grew up. This is his 36th day under saddle in his first dressage show. He was entered into training level 1 and 2. He had a great personality and his foster couldn't part with him!
Gypsy came to us via a failed adoption from Best Friends in Utah. She was fostered and placed in training. The foster fell in love after she lost 300 lb and was able to actually trail ride for more than 20 minutes. This mare has the smoothest trot ever ridden.
Goliath was picked up from the San Diego Humane Society when they were closing the large animal facility. His name at that time was Bernie. He quickly became a favorite of one of the junior volunteers and she ended up adopting him. We lost track of him for a while, but we always look to keep tabs on our rescues... he was in a bad spot, a man rescued him and Goliath was placed with Hee Haw Burro Rescue where he rejoined his burro pal Bugs. He recently (2014) competed at Mule Days in Bishop, CA!
Breeze Chaser was a rescue from an ignorant owner. The mare kept getting out of the corral and into the feed. She was housed with another mare who had just foundered (she was grossly obese) and Breeze was about 200 lb underweight. Her foster fell in love with her almost the first day. She is the mother of McKayla. Breeze still lives with her original foster and is enjoying her retirement.
