Bombay Cigar Club (B.B.)

18 yo OTTB

BOMB PROOF!!! Since we evaluated BB in 2014, she has been to Boy Scout Camp and they LOVED her. She was one of 2 "go to" horses (Diane was the other) for all the beginning riders. She loves arena work and is safe for beginners but knows enough to keep a knowledgeable rider happy too. On trail, she needs a rider that wants to go.. she is very comfortable to ride at a slow jog, but she prefers to really get out and go.

I was in dire straights when Auction Horse Rescue called TEARS and asked if they could drive to Riverside and pick me up. I was an animal control case and my owner decided to surrender me.  It was a very hard thing for him to admit I needed more care than he could give me.

I was a Body Condition Score of 2.5/9  and a veterinarian had already seen me at my old home. I had a belly full of sand and 2-3 inch hooks on my premolars making it hard for me to chew properly.

After gaining about 300 lbs in about 4 weeks, a course of beet pulp and flax seed to get rid of the sand, and a couple of chiropractic adjustments, my teeth were addressed and I was ridden for the first time by the TEARS trainer.

I had been a Charro horse you see... and I was trained to do everything at lightening speed.. whether I understood what was wanted or not....

Once I realized that my "people" just want me to be happy, I have settled down and LOVE arena work.. but on trail... I still get a tad anxious andwuld like to have a rider thatwants to do a lot f trotting and canter until I realize that trail is a place I can walk realxed too.
