Dancer of the Unending Night

A Mustang Gelding

Dancer was originally rescued when our founder and treasurer drove all night to a prison facility in New Mexico to pick out a horse for Kevin. The first horse they saw was Dancer... he had only been there 3 days and was tied to a VERY large telephone pole... learning patience.

He was the hardest horse our trainer has ever trained... and a super teacher. Dancer was terrified of riders on horses... it took 4 years for him to understand and trust his human caretakers.

Dancer got older... and was having difficulty carrying a 245lb man... so a new home was found with a rider who needed Dancer instead of Dancer needing a home! At 21 years of age, after helping a handicapped rider learn while her horse grew up and was trained, Dancer fooiund a new home with an older rider and her granddaughter.

Dancer moved to Pennsilvania with these folks. His owner was diagnosed with debilitating rheumatoid arthritis and hte granddaughter lost interest in riding... so another new home was found at a handicapped riding farm.

Dancer quickly showed everyone how well trained and patient he was... and lived out his days at this facility. In 2013 he started to decline... he became uninterested in his heard.. VERY unlike him... after a few months, the vet and the faculty made thedecision to let him go... He had done enough. He was 29 years old.
