Barron

Barron was surrendered by a military family who decieded 3 days before they moved... they didn't want the horse anymore. Barron had been a handicapped riding horse and was as patient as they came... yet the family's twin daughters pestered him so much... he was almost aggressive. The mother said he bucked her off and was not suitable for children.

TEARS trainer put an 11 year old boy on him the day after we took him in... he was a gem. Barron was an awesome horse who just needed to decompress. He was used for lessons, spent time at an adult learning center where the participants learned how to communicate nonverbally with coworkers, and was an incredible education horse. He was still ridable when TEARS had to make the decision to euthanize him.

An instructor from a local veterianry techinician college allowed a student ot give him an injection too close to the spinal chord... and it abcessed. He became very neurological. We nursed him back to health and he was 2 days from rejoining the love of his life (Kate) when he developed another bought of the same neurological problem.... the other horses told us it was time... he was humanely euthanized that evening. We estimated his age to be somewhere between 30 and 40 years of age.
